The Glickman Popkin Bassoon Camp is one of my favorite places on Earth. Going each summer is like returning home to see family. The knowledge and friendships gained from the incredible guest artists and campers in such a fun, supportive atmosphere has been invaluable to me as a bassoonist, musician, and person.

Dillon Meacham, camper of 10 years

All of us at GPBC are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of our long time friend and bassoon innovator Alan Fox. He was a friend to our current Artistic Director, Lenny Hindell, and founders Mark Popkin and Loren Glickman for over 40 years and a fixture at GPBC. Alan valued their input on all the new innovations that he was making to the Fox bassoons, along with playing tennis with Loren and talking acoustics with Mark. There were many discussions about how to improve the bassoon with him over the years, and all of us will be forever grateful to Alan for decoding the mysteries that went into making a quality instrument for a reasonable price. Our heartfelt condolences go out to all who knew him.
