Below you will find a complete list of all of the guest artists from 1981 to the present year. They are listed by year and include what groups they were affiliated with at the time.
You may notice that the first three years of camp are not included in this list. From 1978-1981, Mark and Loren gave masterclasses exclusively. As Loren is known to say; “we didn’t think any one would really show up. Who would come to a bassoon camp?” They were surprised with the response and grew quickly. Realizing the impact the camp was having on bassoonists, they decided to open it up and invite other world-class artists to share their experiences and knowledge.
If there is an artist that you don’t see and don’t know why, it probably isn’t because they were not asked. It is simply a matter of scheduling-many of the world’s great players have very active summer schedules and cannot have the time off. If you attend camp, you will be asked for suggestions for the next year’s artists.
